Impromptu stop whilst travelling . A warm friendly welcome in a lovely Inn . Good beer selection and a lovely menu to choose from . Katsu curry was beautiful . Full of flavour in the sauce and lovely crispy chicken . Also , the prawn linguine gorgeous. Beautiful creamy sauce to coat the juicy prawns . Highly recommend and will definitely return .
We decided to go for a spontaneous meal and it was a beautiful spot. We sat outside in the glass house with the heaters but could still hear the band which was lovely, the ambience was great. We had a starter, main and dessert and all was brilliantly home made! The service was also 10/10, thank you.
It was my son's birthday & last minute ( 24hrs) he decided he wanted his family all 17 of us to go out for a meal ! As it was on a Sunday I thought we had no hope due to carverys, the walnut could accommodate all 17 of us, the food was fantastic , the service was fantastic ! Especially Simon & the 2 young ladies serving us ( March 8th ) all calm & very polite. Would definitely recommend, park just outside too so an extra bonus for the children. Thank you again!
Fantastic restaurant. Booked Saturday early evening and was quite quiet but lovely fire and atmosphere. Food was very good and GF options available.
We booked a late table time for wife's 45th birthday, but they were happy to fit us in when we turned up an hour earlier due to weather ruining other plans. Food was great, the ribs were fabulous as was the new to the menu chorizo and prawn linguine. My wife and son had the Walnut tree burger and said it was good, my only negative (if you can call it that) was that my daughter's cheese burger was identical in size to the adult burger (just missed a tiny bit of garnish) but at half the price! Either it was very good value or the adult burger was overpriced, not a lot of difference in size! Staff were very friendly and the decor was lovely. We are in a newly finished enclosed gazebo type thing with sliding glass doors. It was a tad chilly even with their heaters on, but when they light the corner wood burner I am told it gets nice and warm. Too few people in this overflow room today to justify lighting it, but I reckon this will make an exceptional place to eat and drink during the hotter summer months. A lovely visit all in. Really lovely dinner here on Sunday. Catered for a large group on a Sunday really well and we had our own little area which was great for the little ones. We also had someone with allergies and whilst there wasn't lots of choice there was something he could eat and alot of support through ordering and dishing up to ensure his safety
We booked Sunday Lunch for 12 Adults, 4 Children and 2 babies at late notice! The team could not have been more accommodating! The Carvery was fabulous and our grandchildren really enjoyed the “kids menu”. All the food was served together and the Walnut Tree team were very attentive to all our needs! We will definitely be returning; well done!
We stopped in Mere for one night and had a lovely meal here. Lovely delicious food , great atmosphere. As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a lovely man, very friendly. Also have to thank the young blonde waitress (didnt get her name) she was absolutely delightful, so so friendly and welcoming. She was great with our little pug, who was welcomed and given treats too. We would highly recommend this restaurant and go again
